Printer stands, wiring, and integration of automated print and apply carton barcodes to the WCS and WMS
Project overview
The Mr Price warehouse project was multi-faceted, with multiple companies covering different scopes of work. Ivevane's role was to build the printer stands, wire, and integrate the automated printing and application of carton barcodes to the WCS (Warehouse Control System) and WMS (Warehouse Management System), which determined where boxes were routed to from the scanning stations on the inbound side. The technologies used were Panther Predator printers, SICK volumetric scanners (barcode and volumetric data), Siemens PLCs controlling the warehouse conveyors, and the WCS and WMS for data management.
