Project overview
Ivevane Automation was contracted to assist with the PLC software development, HMI design and deployment, and SCADA design and integration for a mining tailings water barge pumping system. The project was based on TIA Portal v17, integrated into a Siemens WinCC OA SCADA system, and had to be developed to specifications supplied by the client, under a strict budget and timeline to meet their targeted use of the barges. The system ran from a containerised MCC with 5 VSDs and 5 priming booster pumps, about 10 pressure transmitters, 2 flowmeters, and alarms and monitoring for container safety and fire signals.
